Protected product
The Galician Coffee Liquor G.D. covers all traditional spirits made at installations registered with the Regulatory Board, obtained from grape spirits produced under the auspices of the Galician Grape Spirit G.D. and ethyl alcohol of agricultural origin, by infusion and/or distillation of the alcohol in the presence of naturally toasted coffee.
Characteristics
‘Galician Coffee Liquor’ should have a sugar content of at least 100 g/l. Its alcohol content should be between 15 and 40% by volume.
In the mixture of alcohols, the minimum content of grape spirit from the Galician Grape Spirit Geographical Designation should be 50% of the total alcohol content.
Origin
The production and bottling of all herb spirits, herb liquors and coffee liquors must be carried out within the Autonomous Community of Galicia.
Presentation
In packages provided with label in where the Geographic Denomination is mentioned “Galician Grape Spirit”, “Galician Herb Spirit”, “Galician Herb Liquor” and “Galician Coffe Liquor”, with second numbered label controled by the Regulatory Board.
